Taman Ayun Temple, the temple with a beautiful garden in Bali

Taman Ayun Temple is a huge temple complex, located in Mengwi sub district, Badung regency, Bali Indonesia. If there is no traffic jam, can be reached by about 30 minutes. If you will visit to Bedugul, you should stop by for a moment in the attraction of Taman Ayun. Because in the same track.

Taman Ayun surrounded by a very large pond. Swimming is like a fortress. According to the story I heard, long ago, Taman Ayun is a kingdom. After passing through the entrance of a small bridge to cross the pond, we will see large, well-kept gardens, with a very beautiful green grass. To traverse this park you have to be prepared to bask in the sun. Since the area of the park on pedestrian paths, no trees for shelter. If you want a place yangteduh, the rear garden is the right choice. It would be very nice to walk on cobblestone streets beneath large trees accompanied by the sound of birds singing.

Taman Ayun is a beautiful garden. While the temple is located in the park area is regarded as one of the most interesting temples in Bali Indonesia. The temple was built in 1634 by the King of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu. This temple is bordered by a wide river that irrigates the surrounding rice fields. This temple is dedicated to the ancestral kingdom of Mengwi and other important gods. Taman Ayun Temple is considered as the center for the kingdom of Mengwi. Since the time immemorial, Taman Ayun is a great empire, with a very strong influence in Bali.

To enter the temple complex, we have to cross a bridge that connects the temple complex and the main road. There is a small temple entrance as a guard on the left and right. There is also a large hall, a place where the ceremony is often held Tabuh Rah. There is also a fountain with nine water showers.

Entering the second gate, there is a stunning building with carvings. The engraving contains the gods, the gods who guard the nine cardinal directions. The second page is JabaTengah, and in this area, there is a high BaleKulkul, such as the magnificent skyscrapers. Kulkul is traditional media to communicate with the public at large. Kulkul used to summon villagers to gather together. Kulkul sound can vary according to what activities will be done by the community.

The most sacred part is Jaba Jero. This place has three gates. The gate in the center only opened when performed religious ceremonies. This door serves as the exit and entrance to the sacred statues and other sacred instruments for ceremonial activities. Two other doors on the right and left side for everyday use. On this page are some of the Meru in various shapes and sizes.

Three pages in the temple complex is a symbol of the three levels of the cosmic world. The first is a place for humans, the second is a spirit, and the main page is the place of God, which is a symbol of heaven.

Taman Ayun Temple destroyed by a major earthquake that occurred in 1917, and was not restored until 1950 pillar temple and the height reaches 16 meters in the inner courtyard of the temple built according to the Java architecture, while a small temple in the form of a seat stone numbered 64, an ancestral monument megalithic era, in memory of the warriors who died in the war.
